Oh well, as no-one else is adding to this thread I'll have to jump in.

It just get's worse for the Royal Navy

get's?

get's??

:confused::confused::eek::eek:

Apostrophes are now in danger of taking over the world. Having escaped from their restricted role as indicators of possession and rampaged through plural nouns (e.g. potato's, tomato's), they now appear to be attacking verbs. Where will it all end? Who noe's?

Funny ebay listing, btw :ok:

Just like Exclamation Marks, Question Marks ought never to be used in multiples. There is no significance imparted by doubling them up, apart from displaying a lack of awareness regarding the rules of punctuation.

Really???

The implied increase in intonation for the second "get's??" was quite clearly intended and successfully interpreted by this reader.

A true pedant would never use capitals in question marks or exclamation marks.
