Help for Heroes - WWII Plane needed!!

Dear all,

We desperately need some assistance in aid of Help for Heroes! My fiancee is taking part in the Help for Heroes calendar 2011 and they were due to shoot at Cosford Museum a few weeks ago. Unfortunately they were let down and currently the organisers are trying to find another suitable location/aircraft.

Does anyone know of anywhere in the Midlands or Thames Valley area where there is a WWII aircraft which could be used for this 40's style calendar for charity???

Any help or contacts would be most helpful!!

The Vachas' Hawker Hurricane G-HUPW is based near Didcot.

Slightly further afield, there's the FAA museum at Yeovilton.

There may be something at Wroughton at the Science Museum reserve collection?

Bit out of your area, but what about Duxford? IWM and all that - Help for Heroes must carry some cred there.

Must have had the same sort of luck as I did at Cosford. Travelled all the way from Scotland to find that the II WW section was closed!!!!!!!

FOR A CORPORATE LUNCH.

Nothing off the ticket price either.

How about a Dakota, Tiger Moth, Horsa and Hadrian?

Not far from Cosford either. PM me if you want details.

There's a bright yellow Harvard at Sywell and some other old looking fixed wing, sorry planks aren't my thing so I'm not sure of the exact era of the other ones, suspect they're WWI, but then some of the buildings on the airfield such as the Aviator would work for the WWII background etc, just a thought...

The OFMC or The Fighter Collection

Try these chaps, some great airplanes, lovely people and done HfH before. Jane is a good person to chat to as well.

Airbase at Coventry should be able to fit you up with a DC3 or anything else that takes your fancy.

How about the Aeropark at East Midlands airport?

Official web site of the East Midlands Aeropark

Also at Coventry Airport is the Midland Air Museum, which has a number of first and second generation jets in various states but not a great deal of WW2 stuff:
