New CDS
 

General Sir David Richards has been appointed the next CDS as of August. The BBC has already had a pop at Jock Stirrup (blaming him for equipment shortages). Any views on Sir Jocks tenure and/or predictions about the new boss?

Apologies if a thread has already begun. If so, I missed it.

All I know is...
he's called Sir!

He strikes me as a safe pair of hands at a time where that is a much needed requirement.

I just hope that, unlike our media and career politicians, he can see more than, and farther than, Afghanistan.

If he can't then we are all screwed.
