Delighted to see a wandering Wokka!

I hope you don't mind me intruding on your thread, but this evening I was treated to a Chinook flying round my city (Sheffield) for approx 40 mins.
About 18.30 hrs. it came over town, flew around the city, flew several times north westerly away from the centre of town and back again, before eventually climbing out and disappearing in a westerly heading.
I am only an enthusiast, and just wondered if anyone could give me a clue as to what he (or she) might have been doing, and /or where it was from, and /or going to, please.
Thanks. N.Z.

I was mountain biking round Bradfield and watch it circle Loxley, Stanington and Dam Flask several times.

They are from RAF Odiham, near Farnborough.

Probably lost, who goes to Sheffield on purpose?:)
