Was wondering what it was, missed the flypast and just saw brief footage from the ac with doors closing.

getsometimein 13th Mar 2010 16:48

Nice bit of wescam footage there... Suprised the BBC got the downlink...

Wonder if the BBC will fund an HD wescam for MRA4, didn't look so good on BBCHD :P

Nice show, came straight over our house afterwards. Cheers lads.

9-6 to Jockland at the moment...

Nimrod MR2 - Flypast of Murryfield

Shame the BBC only picked up the download post the on top. Though the airbrakes did look pretty...

Thanks fellas it was a good start to a frustrating game. On top, on time!

Hope they let the crew watch the game through the wescam rather than missing the whole thing going home...

Navy_Adversary 14th Mar 2010 11:02

Not quite superbowl stuff, but great to see anyway, still a few coffers in the bank for some Avgas, well done guys, the flight would have been better than the game.

BBC iPlayer - Six Nations Rugby: 2010: Scotland v England

Was at Murryfield 2 years ago, think the fly past was the best bit of passing in the game

Lima Juliet 14th Mar 2010 19:00

The all-English Nimrod crew obviously had a technical malfunction; this is what the flypast should have looked like...

Fantastic!
Awesome job, guys...quite emotional with the Mighty Hunter flying into the sunset....
Great job, tho'. Bang on time. Right down the centre line (trust me). Superbly professional, as ever. A real credit to the MR2 and all at RAF Kinloss.

andgo 14th Mar 2010 19:53

Agreed, nice work Gary and the team! Now nursing a headache from the trip to the game.:D

sprucemoose 14th Mar 2010 20:51

I was lucky enough to fly on the same MR2 as a pax last Wednesday as it did its practise run over the stadium, so it was great to see it on the Beeb, although a pitifully brief glimpse and sadly no mention of the retirement.
Thanks again to all concerned at Kinloss for a great visit!
:D

Thud_and_Blunder 14th Mar 2010 22:56

15 y/o rugby-mad son (totally indifferent to aircraft) was in the stands - says this was the best bit of the match! Not just referring to the quality of the game - he loved the way the sound built and reverberated, made it a real event-opener.

Lima Juliet 14th Mar 2010 23:40

Hoots

Did you get your sense of humour from that other great Scotsman of mirth - you know the one who allegedly has one eye and is an idiot? :E

An afore ye get mad ye shoud ken that ma grandfaither wis Scots an ma guid-brither is Scots an aw

LJ :ok:

EESDL 15th Mar 2010 09:38

Nimrod was actually 'Crewless'

you can see the model aircraft enthusiasts with the remote control standing on top of stadium next to flags.........largest model aircraft ever built ........you didn't think crew would find some way of not missing the match?
