Standard Life Healthcare - No HM Forces Cover

Guys

Just received a mailshot from Standard Life Healthcare offering medical insurance. On phoning to ask for a quote to see if they could beat the BUPA scheme we get discount on, I was informed that it was company policy not to cover HM Forces' personnel due to our high risk occupation.

Having given the poor messenger a large flea in his ear, I am now trawling all my other policies to ensure that any others with Standard Life are cancelled. I have also vowed never to do business with the Company again....

If they won't support our lads and lasses, I will have nothing more to do with them.....:*

Because it is always good to compare deals available.......

Similarly Churchill (they of the immensely irritating adverts) refuse to offer motor insurance to members of HM Forces. [Or at least did refuse when I last asked a year or so ago] On principle, I shall never give this company any business, even when I become eligible.

Standard Life - at least Dick Turpin wore a mask

WARNING. I was with Standard Life (ban**ts) for 24 years - Endowment Policy. I used to monitor the progress on line. Logged in one day to find they had wiped £3000 off it overnight without so much as a by-your-leave! Shut that policy down faster that a military cutback. Credit Crunch yes, loyalty nil. No comeback for me apart from the satisfaction I get from telling everyone to stay well clear. I must have diverted 10s of thousands of pounds worth of business by now. Hurrah!

Like Four Types I was stuck with SL because of a low cost endowment mortgage. However, when the company went public I opted for the shares. Which now makes me a part owner I guess.

So.......stroppy letter gets sent tomorrow to my employee (the CEO) asking him why the Armed Forces are being discriminated against.

The Forces Pension Society costs £26 a year to join and provide among other great services the cheapest healthcare through 'The Health Insurance Group' (or THIG) with AXA PPP. Saved myself over £100 per month, yes per month, using their policy.

I couldn't recommend them more highly. Web address below.
