Stretched Herc J weights?
Can anyone supply an unclass but official figure for the C.Mk 4's Basic empty weight and Maximum take-off weight
I have the C.Mk 1 figures as: Basic empty weight 83,000 lb (38,000 kg) Maximum take-off weight 155,000 lb (70,306 kg) Overload 175,000 lb (79,378 kg) And a payload figure for both types, perhaps? |

I believe the MK4's range from 39700kgs to 40992kgs as a basic empty weight. Each frame is a different weight. MTOW is 70310kgs. Regards Fosters |
I think the figures quoted at the start of the thread might be for a C Mk 3. The Mk 1 started life about 5k lighter. (5k being the weight of the plugs used to stretch it to a Mk 3). However, with the bells and whistles on the few remaing Mk1's they may indeed be at that weight now. If I'm wrong, be gentle withy me...

I seem to recall the max payload actually being higher than the above mentioned figure, somewhere around 56,000lb nominal. But operational restrictions reduced it dramaticly.
