BOI reports
Apologies if this is an easy answer and I`m either being stoopid or lazy.
I`m trying to find the MOD pages that publish the BOI reports. Specifically I`m looking for the report where the RAF Hercules collided with the RN Seaking off Stanley. I`m working with an ex maintainer, he was in the Falklands at the time and knew the crew. Many thanks for any help |
Ministry of Defence | About Defence | Corporate Publications | Boards of Inquiry
...but I don't see the accident you are looking for. Ministry of Defence | About Defence | What we do | Air Safety and Aviation | Military Aircraft Accident Summary (MAAS) Still can't see it..... |
Although those documents form part of the Military Aircraft Accident Summaries it appears that they only include the RAF. I was also surprised to see the RAF Puma crash at Catterick is in there....or is that another one?

The HMS Portland Lynx crash is in the BOI publications. But I would agree with you that the two lists are not exhaustive of RN or army incidents.

Dominoe,
Seaking or Hercules crew? SMK PM me if you wish |
I was also surprised to see the RAF Puma crash at Catterick is in there....or is that another one? .....I'm guessing you refer to the more recent 2007 (?) one, which I don't think has been published yet ....:( |
Hercules / Seaking Collison
Davaar Lad,
My friend was a Navy maintainer working in the Falklands at the time of the collision. He only knows very scant details of the accident so any information from either report would help further his knowledge. We are both in the Falklands at the moment and he was not even aware of the Plaque in the Stanley church with the names of the Navy guys who perished. Is there any other memorial(s) to either crew that anyone knows of? Thansk for any help folks, much appreciated. |

Does anyone know if there is an online source of Army / RM accident reports? The above links seem to only cover RAF accidents.
Thanks |
Don't trust the dates on the MOD site as gospel - for example, the one for XV179 is listed as 1985!! It may be the only one out of sequence, but....
