Who ownes the UAS

I believe that the UAE Grobs are owned and operated by a civilian contractor.
Who are they?
And who are the instructors?
Are they mil instructors or civvie(ex-mil) instructors?

Thanks
RAPA...

I believe the Grobs are owned by Vosper Thornycroft or VT Aerospace as they are now known and the instructors are current serving members of the RAF.

Google is your friend. Try "University Air Squadron" or "1 EFTS";)

I'm pretty sure they had a little plaque on them saying they were owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland or something like that. The contract's run by VT but I'm not certain they own the fleet they use to provide it.

With the government practically owning RBS at the mo, does that mean the government is renting aircraft from... itself?

.............and perhaps a mil operated and mil 'owned' aircraft should be on the mil register :oh:

Thanks everyone. When I flew at JEFTS some of the instructors were civilian in the employment of Babcocks. Would some of the UAS instructors also be employed by VT in this case? Do the RAF have enough spare crew to man the UAS?

Or so you'd think :E
