Just incase anyone is interested, I was invited to a photoshoot at Newark Air Museum... if it brings back memories for anyone, job done!

Thanks mucho m8. And at the end a timely reminder of the fact we aren't ready to wipe the planet clean these days.
Lets keep it that way |
Cold wars jets on a cold winter night The erk heard the engines start to fire up. He exited stage right followed shortly after by two blanks exiting stage rear at high speed. |
Worse was cockpit readiness at o'dark hundred. Often we would sit in the cold, frozen aircraft, having woken from a deep sleep, with no real idea of the time. One night, again no idea of the time, the kit was frozen. Put the angle poise lamps up against the nav panel to thaw it out. After 30 minutes or so we were advanced to 02 and the kit just started to come alive.
More than can be said of the plotter, sitting there in pyjamas, slippers and flying suit. |
You are lucky you didn't have six aircrew in one and four in the other.

Love the mini aircrew for the Canberra. And the spare tyres.

Mystery Object on Pic
Sunshine Band,
What is the bizarre object emanating out of the Vulcan on the 4th pic in the Post #1? |
A very late ejection.
|
a small light which is more visible because of the shutter being open for a long time to let in as much light as possible. an aircraft landing perhaps? a firework?
|
I'd love to say that it was a Bloodhound missile to keep the theme, but it was a firework. Too arty??? We tried Catherine Wheels as well as rockets and other fireworks, but the effect didn't work on most occassions...
