BoB pilot over London
There was a lovely piece on the BBC London news at 6.30 tonight. A 92 year old BoB Spitfire pilot,(I didn't catch his name or squadrons) was picked up in a Squirrel from Biggin Hill and taken to Hendon for a tour of the museum. Recently out of hospital after throat cancer, he was clearly not at his best.
But as they crossed London the interviewer next to him on the back seat asked what he thought of this, his first ever chopper ride. "A bit slow!" was his succinct response. Quality.! |
