Hmmm, nice job. I think I owe the Valley Paint Shop crew a few beers and some wallpaper, if they will give it house room.

A very big thank you to the Painters and Finishers for a job well done!!!!!:ok:

Rigger1 1st May 2008 19:27

A job well done to the painters ..... but ....... it just looks like a Kenyan Hawk ..... sorry, not as good as i thought it would be, and i've seen it in the flesh, so to speak.

Green Flash 1st May 2008 19:42

A question, if I may. Am I to understand that the 19 on the fin is red on one side and yellow on the other and if so, why? Cracking job, by the way.:ok: Is it going to Fairford?

MSF 1st May 2008 19:59

Surely it's one of uncle Bobs, as the sun doesn't shine in the valley of the trogs!

Dan Gerous 1st May 2008 21:17

Looks rubbish! I dare you to fly it through Selkirk-Moffat at 100 feet, and prove me wrong :E :ok:

sedburgh 1st May 2008 22:51

SWMBO, who really does not know much about this sort of thing, saw me looking at the pictures and said 'Wow, a jet version of a Spitfire' so I think this scheme is going to go down well with the general public as well as people like us.

Melchett01 1st May 2008 23:22

Always thought the Hawk was a pretty aeroplane. But it really does wonders for morale to see it with teeth and a punchy paint scheme :D

1.3VStall 2nd May 2008 07:30

And next, an all-blue 92 Sqn jet???????

TEEEJ 2nd May 2008 12:24

Look fabulous! Congrats to all involved. Looking forward to seeing some air-to-air shots! Hopefully alongside a Spit!

Cheers

Both sides are yellow, but 19 Squadron used different coloured '19's for their flights - so some had yellow, some red (and IIRC the SL's was white)

Top Marks to all that were involved, I look forward to seeing the Jet out and about (hopefully) nice to know that paintjobs like this can still be done.

Talk is that an awful amount of hurdles had to be overcome to get to this stage; Camouflage Working Group and a lengthy 'Risk Assessment' document for starters!

ShyTorque 2nd May 2008 16:03

Looks great! :ok:

However, the pilot inside isn't finished; he's still in primer .... ;)

petoprobe 2nd May 2008 16:58

She will always be a pretty airplane no matter what colour is thrown at her

Roland Pulfrew 21st May 2008 09:57
