The WP threat is gone, the Russian nuclear threat is a mirage - if they wouldn't hit us then, why now?

He's playing to a domestic audience with a "son et lumiere".

At least in the good old days we had a decent, visible enemy to fight. Call me old-fashioned but..... it was much more sporting when we knew that they were going to come through the Fulda Gap, not through Fulham Broadway.
