Raf Aptitude Test

Hi
Have Just Applied For Weapons System Officer And Was Wondering If Ne 1 Has A List Of The Type Of Questions Come Up In This Test. Would Appreciate Any Feedback.

talk_shy_tall_knight 21st Nov 2007 14:12

Q 1. Have you read the thread at the top of this forum entitled

OASC 'CANDIDATES' and WANNABES, PLEASE READ THIS THREAD FIRST! ?

Sir Vical Smear 21st Nov 2007 14:16

Q 2. Have you ever considered using correct written English? Or like Ne 1 else does txt spk really gr8 me?

Why don't you ask the AFCO?

Flik Roll 21st Nov 2007 14:23

Capital letters are also only required at the beginning of sentences and for 'proper nouns'.

Intersceptic 21st Nov 2007 14:24

If one is to ban text speak, it may draw further attention to the dubious capitalisation policy. I'm in no way inclined to answer your question.

Quite so. As in RAF !!

Try Reading The Post RightAt The Top Of The Page

AIDU 21st Nov 2007 14:56

User 12 don't worry about the other posts they are just jealous that you have the opportunity to apply for Aircrew in the RAF. Something they aspired to once but could only dream as they all failed.
Anyway the sort of question you might be asked at OASC is "Do you think that Bananas are a good substitute for protein tablets that are available at a very reasonable price from Holland & Barrett"?
They do continue in that vein.

Two's in 21st Nov 2007 14:57

Hah! That showed him that the RAF won't be having any of that 21st Century nonsense. Good grief, the audacity of the chap to ask on a Military Forum for career advice, whatever next? We'll be encouraging the young blighters to join before you know it, never happened in my day. See you all for tea in the Mess at 4pm - no outside attire of course.

talk_shy_tall_knight 21st Nov 2007 15:03

FFS, I'll try again.

The answer to your question is at post 2601.:ugh:

Opportunity to apply: Applies to just about everyone.
All failed -dont think so. Check out the user name - could be a clue there.
I agree that my first post was somewhat "blunt". However...
:ugh::ugh:

AngryDave 21st Nov 2007 15:32

user12,

As has been suggested here, look at the topic at the top of the page as it really is very helpful. Also, try going to the Armed Forces section of the Careers forum at www.thestudentroom.co.uk as you will find many people similar to yourself and the answer to many other questions you may have.

And if you feel hard done by with the posts so far then you really have nothing to complain about. The lack of initiative in not looking at the sticky at the top plus some poor spelling and punctuation does not bode well for a potential RAF Officer.

Kitbag 21st Nov 2007 15:37

AIDU, which one of the flanking characters are you in this article?

Nope, lost me there
Not exactly difficult, oh defender of the inane posters.

AIDU 21st Nov 2007 15:42

WOW 2 for the price of one. Never thought an ex VC10 pilot would fall for that one.

AlJH 21st Nov 2007 16:32

Guys and girls,
It may have occurred to me that AIDU was taking the p*ss out of the vegetable at the top of the thread as opposed to us. There aren't many failed mil. aircrew on a mil. aircrew forum.
The point about bananas and protein pills is a bit of a giveaway.
Think about it.
Al

And where is Beagle ?? He is usually good for a cutting put down.
:oh:

Uder 12.

I am inclined to think that you are winding us up OR you are in need of a reality check. Txt speak is a no no and any senior officer would cringe at the sight of your wording.

So on balance I think the check is needed.

Go straight to the OASC thread at the top of the forum and stop wasting everybody's time.

user 12, thank you 4 enlivenng an udderwise dull day

PS,

If you are for real I suggest you disappear from this forum and register under a new name to avoid further embarassment or pilloring.

At the time, I was having a drink in the Frankfurt Lufthansa Senator lounge, if you must know, c130jbloke.

And I don't put down youngsters as a rule - they have to learn. Idiots wot use txt msg spk, most certainly, m8 - and also serial apostrophe abusers!

But my chief hate is those who think that 'lol' is some form of grammatical expression. Innit.
