Armstrong and Miller - WWII RAF pilots
"I've got to go and talk to the Group Captain - somethng about painting my Spitfire yellow - he says it's not allowed."

Absolutely brilliant! I need to have a laugh sometimes (especially with some of the doom and gloom around) and this was excellent!

It is like well good innit tho. Like we is needing our rights like no oppression from them MOD types what don't know what we is facing and JPA too tho. Alllright.
Just what we need to bring a smile before the realisation we have to face another Monday at the funny farm! |
Bit behind the drag curve - only just discovered this... tres amusant - if BEags is wondering, this is actually how all new co-pilots speak...
Armstrong and Miller...again Standard... :D:D |

Hi Stoppers - I guess you mean that all new copiglets talk that awful yoof-speak innit?
At a certain UAS, we would have weeded out such Untermensch - that is, if they'd even got through the 'front end filter' of you lot who did such a good job by making sure that no common oiks got as far as the first recruiting interview. Which was well kewel. |
Shamelessly lifted from somewhere on the web;
I think what's so funny about the A&M sketch is that the stilted expositary complete-sentence dialog in films like Reach For The Sky that would usually emanate from Kenneth More and co is just as false in a different way to the yoof urban street talk with which they've replaced it. And somehow the casualness with which More's Barder (sic) treats the death maiming and destruction he's involved with and injured by is completely in tune with the no-**** sentiment of the wannabe-cool sprogs they're mimicing. |
Didn't understand any of that quote - brilliant.
Here's another.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-oPgbPdnWk Innit |
"Talk to the gun 'cos the cockpit ain't listening"
Absolutely brilliant!:ok: |
A WRAF under the desk - must get me one of those! ;)

Also noticed in the right hand selection area on Bigbluecars post.
In my opinion the classic fighter jet, a truly wonderful aircraft. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=z4KLXl...eature=related I think the pilot is an absolute arse though. |

Beatriz,
Thanks for posting that - the one that you posted makes me splutter still. If you like A&M, you might enjoy some more here, its the only A&M thread I could find though, so don't be put off by having your topic closed by the prefects. Cheers for the reminder - always good for morale. :ok: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kodCvu-RA5M Pip pip, I've bought you some grapes an'**** |
My sides are still aching...!
|
Can't find this already posted, so hope this isn't a repeat.
Mitchell&Webb joined Armstrong&Miller for a Comic Relief version of the sketch. M&W playing Hurricane pilots being 'blinged up with medals and all that sh*t" by Geoffrey Palmer, while an envious A&M look on and heckle. Gospel according to A&M is that, "Hurricane pilots are, like, you know - their Mums go down the chippie in their slippers. Isn'it?" I'm no aviation expert, but can't say I've heard the Spit vs Hurri debate couched in quite those terms before. Unless someone here more knowledgeable than me knows better. Isn'it, though? |
Not too great a recording, but I think this is probably the missing link:
YouTube - Armstrong and Miller RAF Comic Relief |
The sketch last night was one of the best things of the night - up their with Smiffy and Catherine Tate (the rest was pants imo)
|
"They shot us down."
"Twice." "It was a joke, man." |
Blocked Link
