A raw advert - 2007 Poppy appeal

The RBL Poppy appeal has a new look and for me it is a good one.

Hopefully it will show to the public the true cost of our time in the Services.

RBL Poppy Appeal

I agree, Almost_done. The RBL has taken on a new invigorated image this year, IMHO. Instead of clinging to its establishment past, it has taken head-on this dysfunctional, incompetent and uncaring (for the armed forces family) government. By indicting it for turning its back on the Military Covenant it has used the full weight of its moral authority to shame this shameless administration and make a stand for the almost invisible (to the civilian population) maimed and bereaved of Bliars Wars. All power to its elbow, and a clarion call to the other service charities who have kept their heads below the parapet. In this the RAFA has emulated its parent service to a "T", both of them need to take a lead from the RBL, and the Army, and speak out on behalf of those that they are responsible for. Good luck with the Appeal this year RBL, you deserve it to be the best ever!

Chugalug....couldn't have said it better myself. It's a crying shame, nay scandal, the way that this poxy government treat people with more moral fibre in their little finger than those snivelling toerags put together. Time for us to look after our own by putting our hands in our pockets boys and girls.

A charity I always dig deep for, along with a few others, e.g. RNLI, but every time I put money in the box, I walk away thinking services like these, should not depend on charity. They should be state funded, and funded well, at least some of my tax would be well spent. Dibs.

.... and I see in the paper today that a prison officer just got nearly £500K for losing the sight in one eye after some scrote in a prison got a lucky punch in.....

..... remind me again how much that would have been for a squaddy in AF - about £60K IIRC.........:*
