New Royal Navy Aircraft Carriers to be made of Lego

Must be some new science regarding the advantage of flush rivets on aircraft coming out too!

Question... where do you get a job building lego all day?

I wanted to do that when I was a kid, be the chief Lego Designer.

Raised rivets in certain areas is quite old-science: I recall during my Tech Training days at RAF Halton (Late 1970’s) that air-speed and handling improved with a mixture of both Flush and Mush rivets in certain locations. This could have been on the Spitfire, but not having worked on them I can’t confirm, and just starting another bottle of Speckled Hen could be ballix.:ok:

At least all the Ship's Company will have smiles on their faces, which is a lot more than some of the grumpy b@st@rd matelots that I have to look at every day!

Do you think the IPT will stretch to getting me one of those little plastic hair pieces? Mine has almost gone.

It would appear Lego may have fallen into the same trap as the MoD - insufficient deck for resident aircraft.

I suspect the Lego fix may be easier...

I've seen nose hair and ear hair, but never helmet hair. Must be a bit of a turn off for the opposite sex.

I assume those carrier photo's are actual size as well, that should save a few bob.

I bet as they are being built you will see a load of blokes standing round the instructions scratching their heads. I also hope the contract allows for at least 6 bits to be left over at the end.

Sadly that's the last LEGO Aircraft Carrier that will be built in the UK. All future contracts will go to LEGO (France).

The future of the much awaited LEGO Typhoon is also in doubt for a number of issues;

1. The noseleg rarely sticks to the cockpit brick and a number have collapsed at inoppotune moments.
2. The design team cannot agree on whether Customer 2 actually wants one or 2 seats.
3. Apparently LEGO (Global) have sold the second batch of UK destined kits to the highest bidder, in a move that effectively tells UK customers where to get off.

You can be certain that Lego Industries will deliver the kits at 00.01 on 25 December by Santa Sleigh Logistics Inc. On unpacking the Chief Constructor will find that batteries are not included, and are not available for at least 24 hours, by which time penalty clauses for late start of bath-tub trials will kick in.

I really hate to bring this up but isn't this MEGA BLOCKS not LEGO. Clearly an inferior product made in China , but within the budget and nearly on spec

What interests me is the radar absorbent qualities of the Lego !

All I want to know is where can I get one for the bath and how long did it take to make?Also is a lego Oscar2 available to destroy it?:}

Seems that Lego are really missing a trick here. Shame really.
