Hmmm, wonder how this will go down in Seattle etc if the AN-72 gets the nod - there may well be a degree of resistance based on the NIH syndrome.

Interesting. I guess it will be cheaper than resurrecting the Boeing YC-14 on which the An-72 is based...

since there's an EADS entry the NIH factor won't be as bad for Boeing/Antonov :D

I'd think it will take a lot to beat C-27J though.

Why wouldn't they use the AN 74 which is a developed version of the AN 72?

Click HERE and you'll see that someone evidently nicked the plans for the Boeing C-14 back in the '70s. Funny how things go full circle....
