Hornet down at Bagtown

CF-18 down, pilot out ok. BFM, new bloke (new to the Hornet). A few days ago now - Wednesday last I think. Encouragingly unhysterical recation from the wheels, nice to see.

Should provide the link you need.
Turns out I know the guy. He was a couple of courses behind me through NFTC.
Nice lad but an absolute liability when he was drinking.
I remember the time he spent the night on a skateboard ramp. Lucky it was summer!
Glad he got out ok.

What are the Canuck's views on 'pushing a little too hard' and punching out of a jet on only the 'third or forth' TX ride?

MobiusTrip 21st Aug 2005 20:15

Ewan,

Cans tend to be a bit more 'big picture' than RAF (w.r.t. throwing jets away, IMHE (as an 'observer' vice a 'jet thrower awayer' I might add!)).

I think a lot will come out in the wash.

It was trip three, defensive BFM. 2 jugs, bailout mvr - could have been assy tank feed issues ('one pace forward' all those who have thoroughly and resolutely checked 'balanced and feeding' 100% of the time before each split while new on the jet and under pressure.............) who knows. Small scratch and that's all - luckier than the last man.
