BEagle 11th Jul 2004 12:36

What about the gloriously non-PC:

Allahu Akh Bar

..that should upset the religious bigots - but which will, of course, be a totally C2H5OH-free zone?

Yeah, right.....:E

HUDcripple 11th Jul 2004 13:43

Ahhh, who can forget the infamous "Auger Inn" in Texas... the best time I can't remember! :ouch:

artyhug 12th Jul 2004 11:23

The great 'Cock and Pullet' until it was deemed far too un PC, though it took the Septics a considerable amount of time to spot it....

AlanM 12th Jul 2004 11:35

At MPA in the late 80's

The tels Engineers: "The Slip It Inn"

The muppets bar in Akronelli, The "Lash Inn"

Always_broken_in_wilts 12th Jul 2004 18:16

"Lash Inn" would be more aptly named the "Inn Secure":E

all spelling mistakes are "df" alcohol induced

Mobile Muppet 12th Jul 2004 19:40

Not a Bar, I know, but..

RAF Stanley 82 - toilets on airfield rare.

Some bright spark took a single portaloo, built cladding around it until it was a brilliant lookalike to Dr Who's time machine, complete with flashing blue light.

Its name?

The Turdis

Tilt&Gain 13th Jul 2004 19:44

Paradigm shift, I'm afraid when it got too hot for the Puffer Jet to operate in Incirlik the name was changed.....to an anagram:

The Horny Vine

BEagle 13th Jul 2004 20:04

Except that everyone still called it 'The Hover'!

"Last Inn - First Outt?"

12 PSI 13th Jul 2004 21:29

Isn't there a place near Faslane called Rhu, which has - you guessed it - "The Rhu Inn". I believe it has been for many sailors!

Always_broken_in_wilts 13th Jul 2004 21:37

Not quite but almost a bar some of my finest memories, and definately some of the finest mamories I have ever seen, were in the "Swamp" in Belize:E

Newly opened JHF bar in Basra is called "The Camel's Toe"...

SASless 14th Jul 2004 05:10

My all time favorite is Big Dick's Halfway Inn....I will try to find a photograph of the sign....it is for real ....honest!:ok:

Mr C Hinecap 14th Jul 2004 05:50

Ahhhhh. The Talibar. Thumrait. Some good nights, some terrible nights, some great ones too.
I like the FBI near Boulmer. The sign looks far more exciting as FBI than the Fishing Boat Inn.

sonicstomp 14th Jul 2004 20:55

Mr C H :

Yes, Talibar indeed - do you remember its previous incarnation the Foobar? (built by those fine Royal Engineer chappies).

I will never forget the '2 can rule' and the 30 min bar extensions ("I am the One and Only"!! :-) )

Tigs2 14th Jul 2004 22:09

ALWAYS BROKEN IN WILTS

Always_broken_in_wilts 14th Jul 2004 22:39

I still maintain my funniest memory is of a certain crewman, ex scuffer now commisioned............no clues there then:ok: regailing the tale of how he was caught by Joyce the cleaner as he stood in between the wardrobe doors "sexually solo" Oh how we giggled:ok:

Those were by far the best days of my flying life so far......

all spelling mistakes are "df" alcohol induced

Tigs2 16th Jul 2004 09:20

Always Broken

I think Joyce just carried on mopping the Pina Colada off the floor shaking her head and saying in her big deep mamma voice "oh you boys!"

Anyone remember the 'whoppit inn'? 29(F), conners, 93.

CatpainCaveman 17th Jul 2004 22:55

There's was also the Muff Inn down in Qatar last year.

I wonder if that had anything to do with the excess of blonde USAF ladies there at the time ....?
