Multi crew - Multi pilot. ?????????
Just looking through the requirements for the rotary bridging course. What is the difference between Multi crew and Multi pilot. Can anyone help?????
|
the difference is exactly as it implies. a multi pilot a/c requires more than 1 pilot to operate it, while multi crew a/c refers to the situation where a pilot is backed up in whatever role by another aircrew type, nav for example. with regard to civvi licences the distinction is made as it is recognised that the working relationship between a tristar front end crew (for eg) is the same as that of a BA crew, while a tornado crew, pilot and nav, is a completely different situation in terms of 'pilot operating procedures'.

Best to avoid "multi-pilot" in fast jets - two QFIs together in particular!
|
Especially if they are at Waddington!

OPSO,
You don't have to be at Waddington to witness a twin QFI c**k-up ! At Wattisham, in the early Phantom days, our incoming QFI was being "night checked" by the outgoing QFI. After landing, whilst recovering to the ASP (just by the tower), they got to the island. They had a choice of turning left or turning right. Guess which they chose? It was rather muddy! |
