Future Of C130k At Lyneham
ANY TRUTH IN THE RUMOUR THAT THE C130Ks HAVE FATIGUE PROBLEMS AND MAY BE RETIRED BY 2007? A FRIEND STATED THAT AN EXTRA 6 MODIFIED MK3s WILL BE ORDERED AND THIS FLEET OF 12 WILL BE ALL THAT REMAINS OF THE C130K FLEET. ALSO IS IT TRUE THAT ALL REMAINING C130K CREWS WILL BE 'TACTICAL' ONLY? IF SO THE SECOND-HAND SUITCASE MARKET MAY COLLAPSE!!

Roland,
At least you made the effort to post once before starting this thread after registering this morning! What do you do for a living again? As has already been reported by the media ;) , the announcment made in the House of Commons gives the planned closure of Lyneham to coincide with the end of the C-130K fleet in 2012. Rumours abound of course as to dates ranging from 2004 to 2040 depending on which fleet the person you're talking to flies on. Good luck with the story. |
We a get a new rumour every day here at Lyneham, we thrive on them.
Someone has posted this on the Redundancies??? thread though Cuts already happening with a certain Wiltshire airbase due to close, a reduction in manning ratio of C130K crews to 1.5/1, early scrapping of tired C130Ks and a sell-on of of useless C130J. |
SPHL,
It's anything but useless but I think the J, whether it's all of them or maybe just the short ones, will be a victim of the bean counters pencil:mad: I hope I am wrong:{ all spelling mistakes are "df" alcohol induced |
SPHL,
Yup, that was posted on the Redundancies thread. By the same guy who started this thread. Must have got his information together quite quickly....... |
