The new bridge section has arrived at the gap in the bridge and is being lifted in place.

Kerch Road Bridge has been repaired. That road surface doesn’t exactly look like it will last long.
Though by the drain it looks like it’s missing the top surface.

Yes, this is the base course of asphalt. The 40mm wear course is harder than the base and will take the surface up to drain level. I'm glad the Ukrainians are waiting for the job to be properly completed before they blow it up. In the UK of course the gas, electricity and cable companies would already be waiting with their road saws.

Has anyone come across discussion regarding 2 things:
a) the second fire, on the day of the attack.
b) what, IMO, looked like chained explosions, on the water-level CCTV footage
I am just some guy who reads twitter. I don't have any experience/specialty with this stuff; so don't assume I'm right.

a) I think I saw the second fire posted by Loogunda: twitter /loogunda/status/1578592994877476864
As well as theiner- though it seems to have been deleted: "Whoa! Looks like two fires burned on the Crimean pier to nowhere this morning." twitter /noclador/status/1578626636982853632
Maybe this was a fake, or illusion, or mirrored image or something.

b) from @0:30-0:35 in this video, youtube /watch?v=S-juPsPG6FE, IMO I can count separate explosions, moving away from the camera. Like you'd see in a controlled building demolition.

At @0:20, the "sparks" that everyone was talking about.. are they water splashes? From the bridge deck falling into the water?

This is just my .02, and I've been keeping my eyes open for relevant discussion since then, but haven't seen anything. Outside of maybe that conspiracy MOD FSB stuff.

No more being said about the Kerch bridge. I'm no military man but why have the Ukraine turned a blind eye to it being repaired and in use again? Surely, knocking it down again would be another psychological blow to the Russian forces?

It’s done, Putin visited or one of his clones did, I didn’t post it on here but it was on Jet Blast as it involved Putin. I think they still have work on the other span and rail track to do, I assume another go is in planning,, but I assume a truck bomb threat will have been pretty much secured from by Russia. Note how the “buy Russian” leader is driving a Mercedes.

Do you really think P*tin would leave his bunker and go to what is almost the front-line? I call "double"

No doubt the Ukrainians know the serials of every component in the bridge repair. They very sensibly bide their time and keep quiet about their preparations, asking others to do the same. As to these mysterious explosions on Russian airfields hundreds of miles inside the border, I'm sure the Ukrainians had nothing to do with them

Something I've been puzzling over - and mods please remove if too far off topic: When this is all over, and assuming Ukraine prevail as hoped, they're fairly obviously going to drop whatever's left of the bridge. As far as I can see, the main span crosses the only navigable channel, and both ends are on Ukrainian territory. Could Ukraine reaonably deny Russia right of passage between the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea, if necessary by replacing that part of the bridge with some sort of controlled barrier? If so, that could be a massive bargaining chip in any peace deal.

This thread appears to have been 'dropped'. It would be a pity to leave it standing for too long.

I don't think there's been much development. If I were a journalist, I'd contact demolition companies and ask them whether they think the multiple flashes in the video are chained explosives. And try to figure out if there were 2 fires on the bridge that day. Until anything else comes up, the thread will probably lie dormant. I'm not up to date on if the rails and road have regained full capacity, and full speed

"Could Ukraine reasonably deny Russia right of passage between the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea,"

In normal conditions I don't think so but these things are normally worked out between countries that aren't at war with each other

I have no doubt that at a suitable moment UKR will have another go. At the time of their choosing.

They are replacing the decking on the inner roadway now, so it appears in effect closed to road traffic, see
