Buccaneer Comedy

Listen to the bit about BLC from 2.30

It's either comedy or painful - depending on your demeanor .

Either way a very poor show under the flag of the RAF museum

“Why remain silent and be thought of as a fool when you can open your mouth and remove all reasonable doubt”. I think that videos such as that will totally demotivate anyone who has some aviation knowledge and may consider visiting the RAF Museum.

Flying very low was dangerous for the pilot apparently.
No mention of the back seater, presumably he was of no consequence.

Since the removal of anybody with significant RAF,or even U.K. Aviation industry backgrounds, from RAFM senior management,it has become just yet another "Woke" dominated ( Hats etc) extension of the regime of technically unqualified self serving Civil Service "administrators". climbing the greasy pole.
What the likes of Jack Bruce , Bill Sayer and others of similar ilk who built the museum up would have made of all this doesn't bear thinking about..

Researcher probably mis-heard/ read lower with slower. That then fitted the much of the aircraft's popular story they had so far, leading to this. Back to the edit, eh?

It just defies belief. The really sad thing is that these people probably actually believe that they are doing a good job.

Bizarre! Started off reasonably for a lay audience, but I had to stop watching after the BLC explanation. Maybe I then missed the bit about area ruling helping it to land…..

If the RAF Museum uses Volunteers for such duties and as tour guides providing commentary.....perhaps some genuinely qualified retired old Gits would step forward and offer their services....the hired Staff would surely welcome that so they could attend to more important duties such as padding their Resume's and creating bogus Rating Standards to gain a larger Annual Performance Bonus and leave the "work" to the Vols.....sound like a plan?

As the RAF rightfully honors the Dam Busters.....how does the Museum with all this "woke" and "PC" business get around to discussing the Dog's Name used as the Code Word for success of the Raid?

Trying to help recover this situation, I have e mailed the RAF Museum and offered to help them correct the errors in this video if they would like me to. I would very happily write a script for them. I have watched the F4 one also and at least they used a type qualified pilot for that so that is a good presentation for a lay person.

Q: How low can the RAFM go?

A: 5ft AGL, using foreign staff and BLC (Bloody Lousy Commentary).

You’ve missed the other errors, the RAF were going to get the TSR2 then they wanted to go “for an American version” the F111K

the second guy would be sitting right behind me isn’t strictly correct either as both seats are offset to allow the back seater forward vision.

I lost faith in the whole bunch of them when Cosford pushed the mint Catalina outside to make way for an entertaining area and kiddies area to raise funding for restoration work, something the Catalina will now need sooner than before.

I am afraid that these days, accuracy and fact matter far less than ‘engagement’ and ‘likes’. This video is doubtless well-meaning, but if you don’t actually know what you are talking about, then just stfu….
