Bingham's sucess story was due to the infrastruture that existed below her, not because of her. Alistair Cook has done much charity work you have never seen, or cared about. You done any charity work at all? I did loads for a dying friend that was the finishing statement for my last commendation, not that I was doing the charity work for any other reason than my friend.
You apparently need a fact-finder, an editor, and a proof-reader. Please ask someone else, the job looks difficult.

The country needs to recognise and recognise in bucketloads those that are “at war” with this disease to protect us all.
Well, I’m sorry, but there are a heck of a lot more deserved people to be awarded, nurses and doctors that have been on the COVID frontline for the past couple of years, often living apart from their families to try and protect them, and then there are those medical staff that died in the fight, they are the ones that truly deserve these awards, not some senior officer that have received it for being promoted.

Unfortunately the form does not include a section to put forward who you think shouldn't be recognised.

I declined to participate in the regular 6-monthly winge-fest here, but that one really shocked me. How sad that “Merit” is now seemingly quota-allocated.
