The RAF's 50th anniversary celebrations at RAF Abingdon on 14June 1968
The combined Queen's Cypher formation flypast of 51 Jet Provosts at Abingdon in June 1968 were drawn from Linton-on-Ouse, Syerston, Leeming and Acklington, with No.1 FTS forming the 'E', Nos. 2 FTS and 3 FTS forming the 'II' and No.6 FTS forming the 'R'. Leader of the Linton formation was Sqn Ldr Sidney Edwards, but does anyone know who led those drawn from the other training schools? TIA

If you go there today you will step back in time to WW2 as there are B-17's filming the Masters of the Air, a follow on from Band of Brothers and The Pacific.
