I watched today's broadcast on Sky TV News because that was what my TV was set to from last night. Generally my opinion of
Press and TV is that they are Pond Life and Oxygen Burglars, However I was most impressed by the broadcast. Informative,
respectful and very professional . Well done Sky. A great tribute to a great man.

Moving, quietly magnificent and blessed by the weather. A touching and suitable send-off to a great man. RIP, calm waters and fair winds on your journey, Sir.

On the No Flypast question, I'm inclined to agree with you, Video Mixdown, when you say

He was, after all, a distinguished pilot, and, by all accounts, a great aviation person. So it seems a bit odd, at such an extraordinary public occasion, to have no airborne RAF representation. That is not, of course, to denigrate the excellence of the Queen's Colour Squadron and the Central Band of the RAF.

It lists them as HM the Queen, Charles, Camilla, Anne, Timothy Laurence, Andrew, Edward....etc all the way down the listing then when we get to Beatrice and Eugenia, they are listed as Princesses.. but all those before are without titles bar the Queen.

Managed to find a channel (Red Button) free from commentary and watched the form up/progression to the castle - excellent, no 'talking heads' ... has the BBC been listening to us?

They don't have titles in their own right hence they're officially Princess Beatrice/Eugenie of York and Princess Alexandra.
The royals with their own titles are officially styled

While not military related but to add to the comments about the Duke of Edinburgh's interest in technology. He was apparently responsible for the building of the Auster Agricola topdressing aircraft.
The story goes that after Queen Elizabeth and he visited New Zealand in the late 1950's and had seen Tiger Moths being used as topdressing aircraft Prince Philip went to Auster and asked/told them to build a purpose built topdressing aircraft for use in the Antipodes.
