Is Ukraine about to have a war?
Meanwhile it appears those Moscow police that we saw heavily handedly forcing people onto buses for Ukraine may well be joining them.
You would have thought they would be the last people he would want to send as they keep a tight lid on Moscow.

The list includes items such as clothes, towels, a compass, a torch, an combat mission plotter, a day's worth of food, a one-litre flask of water and a first-aid kit. The officers were additionally ordered to pack a sleeping bag and a camping mat.

The above was reported here back in mid-December though.

Fowler's Modern English Usage 1926
Certain recent pedantic polemics on style have resurrected unhappy memories of hours spent propping up my eyelids while English teachers genuflected before the altar of Fowler.
Then there were various style manuals and the contemporary flood of studies written in consultantspeak.
I find fdr's writings refreshing.

Sevastapol under Ukrainian aerial and sea-borne drone attack again. That's a pretty large explosion against what appears to be a warship.

I don't think you need to be military aircrew to realise that this is a formation for PR purposes and not a demonstration of tactics!

Sabre rattling? That’s one phrase for it I suppose. However since various Russian officials have been casually threatening nations on their border with attack, I think it does no harm to remind them that they would face opposition from a coalition of forces operating aircraft far better and more numerous than anything they can field.

True, and it appears the life expectancy has not improved for the Russians in the field, but at least they are still bringing a full one days food. When they only need to pack a snack, you know they are getting to a bad point...

it’s not a tactical formation, but then it’s not a tactical mission.
