Military Puma; 2 weeks. (airframe/engine)
Military CH-47; around 4 weeks (if I remember correctly, airframe/engine)
Civil SAAB 340; 2 or 3 weeks (I think). (B1)
DHC6/PT6A; 3 weeks. (B1)
B200; 2 weeks (B1)
B350; 2 weeks (B1)
I refer of course only to the formal training, not to practical experience but, hey, time-served aircraft engineers, 6 months fairly intensive practical .............?
(And you gave examples of 15 weeks, 8 weeks including practical, sim, ground runs).

They self-detonate after a certain time to protect civilians from coming across them

Hahaha, I could imagine the U.K. doing this.. lol.
You’re standing in a trench nr Bakhmut and you get a call
from the Military Commissariat asking why you are hiding from mobilisation.

Remains of the downed SU24 near Bahkmut, they were auctioning off the helmet to purchase a drone, it does not look like it provided much protection.

Russia has been dropping Emergency locator beacons on targets to aid artillery from UAV's, I do wonder if the Ukrainians are then flying them on one of their UAV's and dropping it on Russian targets

I must admit, I have been considering stopping posting on this thread as no one appears to be interested anymore as I feel i am probably the only poster on it these days..
It surprises me that people appear to becoming bored of it, as it is without doubt the greatest threat to the World and Europe since WW2 with the possibility of an even worse outcome for mankind..
I have been trying to keep the thread up to date and relevent, but it is hard work when you have no one seemingly interested in bouncing discussions off..

Please don't!
Maybe I'm sad, but I've got the thread open most of the day & refresh frequently - it's one of the more up to date places on the web for info from different sources, "news" often appearing some time before it's on the "News".
I have next to no input on the thread, but it's beacuse I don't really feel knowledgable enough on the subject to contribute much which would be worthwile, not because I'm not interested - I am, 110%.
Oh & thank you very much for your efforts & keeping the thread active.

Hi Nutty, For years I have been nothing more than an armchair observer of these forums but your last post has forced me into registering so that I can reply.
Please continue as I and I'm sure many others a more than interested about what is happening in Ukraine. I agree this one of, if not the most important event happening right now and I feel it is the mainstream media that has made people lose interest.
I for one read each and every post on this thread.
Regards,
Stu

OK, here is one for the more knowledgeable;
Over the last 3 to 4 months an incredible amount of equipment has been given or is going to be given to UKR (Challenger 2, Bradley, Skyshield/ranger & so forth), maybe I've got it all wrong but I expected some of this would be in country by now but haven't seen much of any of it. Which do you think applies;
* Some was lip service
* The process is beyond slow (I appreciate the training time & so forth)
* It is in country, just on the QT & being kept that way
* It's being amassed for a larger action

This would be my best guess. Last few months seem to be about encouraging the bad guys to wear themselves down, and (presumably) preparing for whatever they're preparing themselves for.
Nutty - please keep going. Like others, I'm an avid reader, but try to avoid the near-universal Internet practice of chipping in even when I have nothing useful to add.

Anyway, keep up the good work Nutty! This is my go to thread for Ukraine war related matters and not being ex- mil means I don’t really have much input.
