This guy keeps on impressing me

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi inherited $1 million from a Ukrainian American, Gregory Stepanets, and donated the money to the Ukrainian military, the New York Times reported on Jan. 24.
The Ukrainian military’s press service confirmed the donation to the New York Times and the Ukrainian media outlet Ukrainska Pravda.
In comments to Ukrainska Pravda, the press service cited Zaluzhnyi.
"I gave my whole life to the Armed Forces. And I had no doubt about what I should do with the inheritance. Mr. Hryhoriy's last will was obviously to support the Ukrainian army in my person," Zaluzhnyi said.
Individual contributions have made a significant impact on the Ukrainian army's resources in the face of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Ukraine’s state platform United24, which fundraises money for the country’s military needs, post-war reconstruction, and humanitarian needs, said that it had collected over $274 million.

Looks like there had been a crack in that barrel for a long time. Looks like half the break is rusty from water having got into the crack for a long time before the other half gave way. The tracks show it was in recent use. Makes me wonder whether they do any sort of DI.

Crew composition is different since there is no autoloader. The gun is stabilised and loading this on the move is not so easy. On top of that, Leo2 and M1A2 have sophisticated and rather complex targeting systems with many modes and different and flexible role share between commander and targeting specialist. To optimally use such a sophisticated tank in battle takes training. The only really easy part of it is the driving (at least in case of the Leopard). That is as close to driving a car with automatic transmission as it gets.

Two different helicopters. The second, more damaged one, is without markings and looks like an old wreck. I wish it was true but I think we are being fed porkies again!

Spoke to colleagues/friends in Moscow... I had to leave unfortunately and live in exile... in style as you might expect.
The current sentiment amongst all, young and old, is a hardening not so much against Ukraine, but the West... we are seeing the emergence of real antagonism here, bit worried where this will go to be honest. The dislike of the West is overshadowing everything.
Genuinely surprised though even after 20 years in Moscow that the tide turned so fast.

We all know that this is bollocks. The west didn't attack Russia. Didn't even threaten Russian militarily. All the threats have come from Putin. He who fires the first bullet is the aggressor. Zero doubt as to which country that was.

Well….what. % of the US population still believes the 2020 election was stolen?
That is. with an unfettered media. +-
Now take complete control of all media in Russia and arrest those who do not agree with the regime’s propaganda and you could convince the average Russian citizen of just about anything.
Especially if the actual truth is hard to swallow. People who are victims of a scam are usually in denial at first because admitting they were stupid enough as to buy into the scheme is painful. If you present them with another explanation that allows them to place blame blame on others they will climb onto that careening, brakeless bus for the trip off the cliff with the other suckers.

Whilst I can't be arsed to respond in detail, my point here is that the difference between the younger generations (post Soviet) and older (Soviet) was slowly widening and they never really agreed on much, current events have narrowed that gap considerably and the country (highly homogenous in a few respects admittedly) has united to a great extend and solidified around a common perceived foe (enemy isn't a word I'd like to use).

Nice piece of Russian hypocrisy here - the Germans use a tungsten penetrator rod as standard# while they use DU rounds on T-64, T-72, T-80, and T-90.
# - they can also fire DU rounds as used by the US/French if supplied

My best guess,
One assumes the road may be an important arterial route, possibly into a city or for resupply…

I think it's very difficult to gauge the current sentiment among the Russian people. There's only a minority who dare to be vocal against the Kremlin. As for the remainder, it may be 50/50 (who knows) between those that remain brainwashed by the domestic media (from a lack of access to any other source) and those who want to preserve their lives (and that of their families) by staying quiet and simply hoping that Vlad and his goons will one day mysteriously vanish. If I had a reasonable job and a young family I would most probably fall into that last category. I wouldn't make any noise to my "friends" either. With that type of regime you just don't know who you can trust.
