Ambassador: Turkey's Baykar to build drone factory in Ukraine.

The Turkish company that produces Bayraktar combat drones is currently in the process of building a factory in Ukraine, said Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar.

According to Bodnar, Baykar has already registered in Ukraine, developed project documents and purchased a land plot.

In July, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reportedly said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin asked him for a deal with the Turkish defense firm.

Baykar’s CEO Haluk Bayraktar earlier said his company wouldn't sell the drones to Russia. “Turkey supports Ukraine with combat drones. We would never do that,” he said.

Don't tell 'em, Pikeski!

Personally I wouldn't be advertising this fact or if I did, announce that it was being built alongside a factory making air defence weaponry complete with some examples of the wares parked outside.

Wow, that's supposed to be the Novofedorivka Airbase in Crimea and is a wake up call for those on the beach, a war is coming to you sooner than you think.

Wait it's a false alarm... Hahahahahaha

One would have thought that this would work both ways, although the Ukes seem much better at securing their rears. Having motivated conscripts familiar with the local area and their inhabitants must help. The issue for Russia here is that they're throwing their locally recruited forces into the fray, not using them intelligently.

What's interesting is that the existence of Uke special forces and saboteur teams must sow a lot of confusion and unease whenever there is a deep strike on an ammo dump or somesuch. Was is sabotage, or have the Ukes been given access to longer ranger weapons for HIMARS etc? The latter rumour is currently doing the rounds on Twitter following a recent strike almost on the Crimean peninsula, beyond the range of anything the Ukes have publicly been supplied.

Difficult to tell whether they're getting the hell out of dodge, or queuing up to view the spectacle...

I see someone's brought their caravan

Perhaps the MOD has pulled back on allowing the Home Office to house migrants at Linton-on-Ouse as they to want to house Ukrainian military trainees there?

Also the frequent use of 'inshallah' in the speeches, Chechens being predominantly muslim. Cannon fodder.

Ukraine war sanctions force Russian airlines to strip jetliners for parts

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-08-...stry%20sources.

Let's see how long they can keep them going. Didn't they claim they were able to produce those parts?

Well, the thing is that the German state never allowed NordStream2 to become legally active because of regulatory issues late in 2021/22 and has no part/ownership/financing in the project, so nothing to pull out of . There is nothing appearing in German media about this in the last two days, so I doubt that there has been any announcement : possibly the Kyiv Independent blowing things up (no pun ) ?

That apart, I have to say I have been wondering who will bear the costs/pay any compensation for the pipeline. It was financed by Gazprom and a few W European energy companies at a cost of approx E 10 Mrd and I do not recall reading any threats about lawsuits/compensation since things started to become tricky last November. Fairly unusual, wouldn't you say ?

Every airline maintenance engineer, not just Russian ones, is familiar with the concept of a "Christmas tree".

There is a site showing the explosions appearing to be in two buildings totally unconnected to each othero.

judging by this it might have been an excellent strike.

They've abandoned the idea; Ben Wallace has been quoted as having withdrawn the offer to the Home Office, though he said MoD have made four other sites available.

US officials have clarified that targets in Crimea are fair game, including the Kerch Strait Bridge, as they see it as Russian occupied territory of Ukraine. No escalation ceiling for US weapons use for Crimean targets…..
