Congratulations to all who received honours and awards.

Some people have worked hard to keep things going this year. Spotted a few deserving names on the commendation lists

Well done all concerned. The full Honours List is available at https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/.../supplement/B1 and the Military List at https://www.gov.uk/government/news/t...ours-list-2020

Hear, hear.

Also, “Arise Sir Wiggy” which is good news. I’m also heartened to see that there is not a hint of diversity virtue signalling in this; it is completely devoid of gender, sexual preference, race, background or religion. That is refreshing to see nowadays.

Usual tripe..
I just think awarding people for reaching high rank is wrong, I would rather see an OBE, Knighthood, CBE, KGB awarded to nurses, carers, road sweepers, recycling sorters, etc that have spent a lifetime in service of the people doing the dirty jobs on a poor wage, not someone who receives it for simply being promoted to higher ranks.
As for Commendations, they are pointless in the real world, an AOC’s commendation might look good hanging in the loo, but it means squat on a CV.... in a way it’s a thank you from the AOC for making him look good so he got his OBE etc..

just saying.

Nutloose.

I knew you wouldn’t let me down. Your complaint about the honours is as regular as clockwork.

You have been ‘just saying’ the same thing twice a year for as long as I can remember!

Consistent aren’t I, shows I truly believe the current system is wrong Bob.

I normally ask for this as well. This is how to make it worth a bit more, as seen in the RAAF/RNZAF, a small and discrete badge to wear on the uniform. So much better than a certificate that at best sits on the downstairs bog wall!!!
