I'm writing an article in which they feature. I'd love to chat with them, if possible, and if not it would be good to know if they are still with us.

I was on the same OCU crew as Bill Bennett back in 1973. However, not seen him since. Thought you might like the crew photo.

Probably lol. For what ever reason there was only one crew plus those 4 on this course. Most other courses went through with 2 crews. I have no idea why our course was different.

Not as far as I know but I haven't seen him since 1978 when he was still on Nimrods. I wouldn't have thought he would want the paycut!!

Yes I was, but my memory was for the name, not the face.

No, this is Don Armour, He was on my crew in the Falklands conflict and then went to St Mawgan MAAU after the war.
Before joining up he used to sail on Hull fishing boats up around the North Cape around the time that the Gaul went missing.

My Dad helped build the Gaul at Beverley Ship Yard before he rejoined the RAF.
Is Flt Lt Delve in the picture the Ken Delve now associated with Canberra.
I read Blackman book "Nimrod Boys" have since been trying to contact Jim Walls who contributed two chapters. We worked together on Starwindow and several other upgrades to the R for a lot of years.

1771, Don was indeed a Radio Officer on trawlers but he was at Topcliffe with me in 1971. The Gaul went down in 1974. Before he arrived at Topcliffe he had been on IOTC. Have not seen him in years.
