M11 closed near Duxford

..Duxford Museums damaged hangar roof is in danger of blowing onto Motorway putting public at risk.

Given the way the meejah (And CAA?) normally reacts to display related aviation Incidents, I fully expect much wailing, gnashing of teeth and wringing of journalistic hands with them calling for the museum to be permanently closed down and the static exhibits moved offshore ....if not dismantled for recycling.

good luck Duxford.

Can you point to a single other instance where the media have reacted in such a way to a museum roof being blown off in a storm? No, didn't think so.

Pointless post.

Why is it "pointless" ? The OP was using sarcasm to make a valid point; the general over re-action of the media to aviation related accidents of almost any kind with which most of us are familiar.

Well the A30 Hayle by-pass bit was closed in 2018(?) When bits of Marks and Sparks roof started blowing off in a gale.

It can't be "a valid point" if there is literally no other instance of it ever happening before.

Ah, I see Nige321. So the OP was conveying contempt for the media for doing something it has literally never done before. Genius.

I would say there are three pointless posts here...

So, guys and gals, the ‘whooshing sound’ I can hear is not just the back end of the storm front passing through then?

lovinnit!

Yes, I agree, there are just three pointless posts. You make a valid point. The good news is; there are enrolment opportunities to join the next course at the College of Semantics.

Ah, so the joke went over my head, that's it? So you don't think the media will do any of those things you said it would do, and it was all just a big joke. Oh, you're a card, aren't you!

You mentioned meejah overreaction once, but I think you got away with it. 😉

So now we've got our toys sorted out children...

Can anyone tell us if any of the hugely important aircraft stored in the hangars at Duxford have been damaged?

Sorry for the thread creep! (And for clarity - yes that was sarcasm!)

OH

No it's not.

On a different tack, and possibly back on topic; didn't they have a similar problem a few years ago?
