Oh dear, so sad. He was unable to manage the Battle of Britain service in September, which he surely would have attended if at all possible. Another good man gone. Condolences to the family. RIP

RIP. An interesting & brave man, as they all were. 'I just wanted to fly' he said. 'I enjoyed the Battle of Britain.' He tells the story of a very young new pilot turning up at his Sqn and told by the Co to get airborne was they were short of pilots. He was shot down & killed on that very sortie. His MG still sat outside the Sqn with his luggage in it. Amazing times. Much resect for them all.

RIP - inevitable I know, but I think it's incredibly sad we are losing these brave heros. I could sit and listen to their stories for hours on end. Such humble types too.
