It gets more weird...
News: No Afghan Ariana Airlines Crash

The provincial governor reports a wreckage in flames however in the Sadozai area of Deh Yak District near Ghazni (Afghanistan). The governor later added, that the aircraft involved is a foreign national aircraft, no domestic airline, it has completely burned down. One of the pilots was recovered, who appears to be a foreign national. The spokesman for the governor further added, the aircraft crashed on Sunday (Jan 26th 2020) at about 13:15L (08:45Z).

Article containing "alleged" photographs of the wreckage, albeit from a tabloid.

if this is indeed the wreckage, it looks like maybe a Bombardier Global series bizjet.

E-11 is an Global Express. USAF operated. Cheatline looks like on the E-11's.

The E-11 operates for years in Afghanistan.

Taking the numbers on the tail, and what we can see is left of the numbers up front ...

Looks as if it burned a bit on the ground. I hope the crew made it out - and will continue to be safe with their new hosts.

Will be interesting to see why it came down.

Looks to me like they destroyed it on the ground to secure the technology?

The right wing has been detached, and is missing on videos/photos. I doubt that the crew survived.

It was a Global XRS, msn 9358 and a 2009 airframe, operated by the USAF Electronic Systems Command.

Ghazni police commander Ahmed Khalid Wardak told the BBC that there was no information about casualties, and that it was unclear what had caused the plane to crash. He added that the aircraft had been set on fire.

Hopefully meaning that the crew got out and torched it.
