Wow.
Two years ago we were there on holiday.
It was an unexpected fast jet geeks paradise.
We could lie in the swimming pool of the small boutique hotel we were staying in, and look up through the palm trees to see singleton Migs and two ship formations flying from the nearby Goa Naval air station on what seemed like a twice daily op-tempo.
Tensions with China were very high at the time we were told.
Lots of Segeis, Vladimirs and Ludmillas (in flashy jewelry) in the restaurants at night too.
Great place - very interesting - much quieter than the Eurotrash sewer of North Goa, Portugese influence everywhere.

Given what happened in the 5 seconds or so after they ejected, I think a very sensible decision to go.
