B757 Technology test bed

I saw today that G-BYAW was ferried to Lasham to be reconfigured for use as a technology testbed for the RAF. Who will be operating it in its new career?

2Excel are a tenant of Lasham Gliding Society; LGS owns Lasham Airfield.

Anyone know how many hours are on the airframe. I flew it when it was brand new at least 25 years ago.

G-INFO shows 86749 as at 24/9/2019

delivered new 1995 - must admit thought it was earlier than that.

Read the link that MG posted above.

In short, systems/sensor testbed for Tempest and future Typhoon/F-35 upgrades. The US have had equivalent test bed aircraft for years to support F22/F35 development...
