I thought they were buying a shed load of these, are they not replacements?

Delays are one thing (Warrior - Army), cancellation and admitting defeat is another (Nimrod MRA/AEW - RAF), but I always thought that the absolute worst was to field a weapon system that was simply known not to work (Tigerfish - RN).

Honorable mentions - Blowpipe, SeaCat, SA80, Duncan Sandys.

Now I’ll get my coat before the fight starts.

Another Defence disaster seems to be the sea Venom missile which is now delayed until 2021, leaving the Navy Wildcat without its primary anti-ship weapon.

Grrr

I used the word depressing earlier. It now needs regrading to distressing.

Not sure what folk expect from the MoD? They have consistently been the worst spenders of public money for their entire existence, why should anything change now?

You must admit they have had some rather stiff competition for that title from the social welfare side of the house!

Politicians must buy they votes giving to folks....and get their funding from those they are going to grant contracts.

It's not the breakfast of warriors I remember. But then, the Vikings conquered most of Europe eating porridge.

Always the same, I was involved in the Sentinel Mk 1 project(ASTOR) exactly the same and the reason is always the same in that the Customer (MOD) continually changes the requirements.

Wrong thread, Dan Winterland and unmanned droid !

But whilst we're at it, I'm sure that porridge was a lot tastier than other Scandiwegian delicacies - such as surströmming .
