GAY PRIDE DEMO
Is it only me, but has nobody noticed the participation of the Red Arrows in this event? Not only was my tax money going into this event, but the Royal Air Force ensign was also on display.
Where exactly are we going here?
If I decide to have a hetrosexual march in London, would the Chiefs of Air Staffs be willing to supply a flypast?

I think it's the "Pride" bit that rankles with me; why on earth should I be expected to be proud of gays or them to be proud of themselves? I'm not particularly proud of heterosexuals or people with artificial limbs or gentlemen aged 84 or people who have ginger hair. They exist, just as the rest of us do, so why do we have to be incessantly told about this particular lot? The rest of the population don't seem to need to have attention drawn to themselves.

I mean, it’s not like we spent years kicking people out on the simple basis of who they loved, or viewed them as security risks. And we definitely didn’t have laws passed banning the “promotion” of gays or lesbians.
The “rest of the population” can quite happily walk around holding hands with their lovers, but even today gays and lesbians are abused and assaulted for doing just that. In the UK. In 2019.
So why shouldn’t they be bloody well proud of who and what they are, for just 8 hours?

When's vegan pride being held? As that appears to be the new flavour of the month.
As for the Reds being used, why not, they are a recruiting tool and in the diverse world we live in today people of all persuasions are rightly welcomed into the military, so it's an ideal venue to recruit at.
If the uniform hasn't changed that much from my time, perhaps it was a case of 50 shades of grey in the march past

Shame the Reds didn’t manage to get a rainbow smoke trail, it would have been great PR. Getting the message over that the Services now welcome anyone, regardless of sexual orientation, is something to be applauded. If you think otherwise, then fine, but I’m glad that the probability is that you are not currently serving!

I know that freedom of speech is finished in this country and the majority of us just 'grin and bear it' so to speak.
But Mr Pat Condell talks a lot of sense on this (and many other) matters -
"The Pride parade is an ambarrassing freak show that reflects the decadence of a rotting civilisation. It's suposed to be about equal rights and freedom from persecution, not semi-naked men dry humping each other along the streets and waving their genitals in children's faces"

Some astonishing posts on here - which , if nothing else, show why the gay community still feels oppressed
I would ask 742 and the others who object what harm have these people ever done to you? Or do you just feel "threatened" by anyone you wouldn't recognise in a mirror?

What an utterly dismal thread; sort of nastiness one expects to see on the Daily Mail website not on PPRuNe. Thank goodness most of the views above are from folks well out of the system now. Dreadful.

But is it your tax money? As a pensionable expat living in Spain, when was the last time you paid tax to the UK government?

Proud of the fact that they let others play around with their pooey bits.

Ah yes. This will always be divisive.
Obviously prejudice against any person on the basis of their sexuality is all wrong. Utterly abhorrent.
Also obviously what consenting adults get up to in their bedrooms is up to them. So long as nobody is harmed.
But.
LGTBXYZ is being used as a tool by Cultural Marxists (at the BBC especially) to destroy family values and to break up the family unit.
Go to the BBC website and there are daily articles promoting homosexuality. And nothing promoting heterosexuality.
The really amusing thing is that the previous weekend the BBC were massively bigging up Glastonbury and especially a supposed musician called Stormzy.
Yet Stormzy's lyrics are incredibly and explicitly homophobic.
