Reds news

Hearing that Mike Bowden is back from the airlines to replace David Simmons who is injured.

Wondering why there were lots of 8 ship practices recently.

Good grief! What is the world coming to when officers admit to have been playing kevball, let alone to have been injured whilst committing such folly…...

I don't own this space under my name. I should have leased it while I still could

Before your time but the Mess at Waddington had its own football pitch and team until someone put a power plinth in the middle for a dining in night.

Mind you, you might say they were only DE yoiks

Does this mean someone was dragged back having left the Service, and there was NO ONE else.

I guess at this stage of training, with Springhawk a few weeks away, its too late for another newbie to come in.

Same happened with Mike Ling last year.

Maybe the Reds should establish a "Sports Prevention Officer"? Had one on many Fighter Squadrons in the past and worked quite well.

I recall having broken a wrist playing rugby (a gentleman's game) the CFI at Linton said "young man you will have to choose, playing sport or becoming a Fighter Pilot.

It didn't long to decide, however, just a few years to achieve! That was 3 years not 9!!!

Interesting that Bowden is a previous Red 2, not 3 though having flown 8 & 9 I guess he is used to flying both sides.

Saw some photos yesterday of a 3 ship (1, 3 and 5) in formation-I'm guessing thats part of getting MB up to speed with formation flying again (on the LHS of the Boss)
