they weren't bothering to stay to watch the Arrows!
Similar to the last Hucknall airshow in 1973. The penultimate display was the Blue Angels with their F4s; very impressive, dynamic and loud, with lots of reheat! When the Red Arrows took off to close the show, their Gnats seemed so small and quiet in contrast to the mighty Phantoms. Spectators were leaving in droves.

When the '225 had landed and was backtracking, from the tower you could see a mass movement of spectators towards the exits; they weren't bothering to stay to watch the Arrows!
I have only ever left while the Reds were closing a show once, and that's because I had a flight to catch. I love the Reds; they never get old.
