Probe launched as RAF NCO stars in blue movie
In WA during the late 70s, if it was raining on a Friday, the school flying was cancelled and the instructors would adjourn to a pub some 30km away for a Flight Safety Meeting. Such meetings involved ladies demonstrating the safe way to remove clothing, which perhaps was soaked in fuel, to avoid going up in flames. From all the demos I saw, luckily none of the girls were injured.
The Perth council decided that because the pub was open to the public, it would be possible that a child or a snowflake would see such a demonstration of safety and construe it as something else, so the so-called "Strip shows" were banned from pubs.
The pub had a close look at the wording, and got around it by having the girls come onto stage naked, and slowly put their safety equipment on. Sometimes very slowly, and some of the equipment didn't look very safe, just little bits of string, but they were Hi-Vis, so that was alright.

It was regarded as a secondary duty on a certain Bruggen squadron, that, when on QRA and your day off, you would be directed to Roermond and to one retail outlet in particular, the large one on the right just past the station on the left, to restock the library funded by the tea swindle.....

TTN reminds me. At one point we fell into bad company in Singapore - a Victor 1 tanker crew. Singapore, under Lee Kuan Yew, was now a clean country. Anyway the Victor captain engaged a taxi with directions to take us to a live show.
There followed a long tour around the town with frequent stops for directions. Eventually we arrived at a timber yard! It was an illicit blue movie show. As the taxi driver had not taken us to where we wanted the Victor captain refused to pay though we did give him some money.
What I remember clearly, when we went in, was the sight of our crew chiefs and the Victor chief, sitting on a log bench. Our next stop was to a brothel where we got free cold beers, made our excuses and left. In the process we collected an RAAF crew.

They had one of those safe disrobing demonstrations in the families club at St Mawgan once. Just the once - the effluent hit the fan . Dont EVER sit at the front.

This is apocryphal but it has come to me twice from different sources, many years ago.
A certain Group Captain , famous for his role in THE forecast of 1944, was saaid to be unwise enough to sit in the front in a dive in Hamburg soon after victory. The exhibish apparently made use of his hat as a prop.
As I say, apocryphal but it does lend spice to what otherwise has always seemed to me to be a strange story of "weather by committee"

Unfortunately approx five minutes or so into the ‘entertainment’ the Pongo dropped his trousers and got involved in the show.
The rest of the crew were somewhat wary of my choice of (former) schoolfriends after that !

Said wearer of the armband on the night was a far from unwilling volunteer however......sadly, his enthusiasm for furthering Anglo-German relationships as part of his otherwise boring duty that evening was somewhat misunderstood by those in authority the next day. It was probably "pure coincidence " his name appeared somewhat frequently for this duty for a while thereafter ......hence we thoughtfully used to ask what he was doing at the weekend in the gliding club bar mid week.

Wasn't there a girl who had a pole dancing course funded? Not that that is in any way akin to appearing in porn movies.
Gentlemens Evenings were a fairly regular event in many OR's clubs up until the early 90's which were usually well attended. Along with simillar but often more riotous events in rugby clubs etc which ISTR made the News of the World on more than one occasion.
The last one I remember attending was in the Skyways club at Wyton about 1992. In the spirit of equal opportunities there was reciprocal entertainment laid on for the good ladies of Wyton the following week, which by all accounts was worse!
Then there was the topless mud wrestling night also in the Skyways.......but thats another story!
