China Shows Off First Quantum Radar Prototype

On Aviation Week

Snip from article:-
ZHUHAI, China—A potentially breakthrough quantum radar prototype is making a debut appearance at the Zhuhai Airshow.

In displaying the unique device, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) is offering a tantalizing glimpse of one of its most ambitious technologies.

In theory, integrating the principle of quantum entanglement in a radar system can vastly improve performance, making the sensor significantly less vulnerable to radio frequency jamming and more adept at detecting targets.

Very interesting... some stuff over on TED givs you an idea of where china want to be in the upcoming decades and the risk of war between them and other superpowers....

https://www.ted.com/talks/graham_all..._us_inevitable

unlike Iran and other nations coming up with unbelievable tech, the Chinese seem to be developing very rapidly in the technology stakes... and geting somewhere.

possible that they could overtake western tech supremacy in the next decade? You better belive it.

Focus on battery, AI and quantum tech, they will be all over high tech military capability like a tramp on chips is my bet.

Chinese radar is being used by Syrian Govt and been shown to be reasonable in what it is able to pick up. Chinese are getting free testbed on Western Equipment and you can bet they are not letting on what they are able to pick up.

As in quantum radar, or best current in service equipment?

What is not discussed is the broad scale of the Chinese effort, it is not only in this area, but really across the waterfront in the physical sciences. They are now world leaders in quantum applications such as secure cryptography and their people can be found as contributors or authors of pretty much every significant paper on the topic.
While they are still reliant on Western academic institutes for their framework, they are obviously building up their domestic institutions as well. Meanwhile, they have become the workshop of the world, so they have the industrial base to exploit their innovations.
