For those whose hearing has been damaged by loud music through earphones, "Cranwell" pronounced with a regional accent probably sounds a lot like "Cornwall"!

An RAF bomb disposal team – 5131 Squadron – was called from a base in Cambridgeshire to detonate the device.
Those blokes had a long drive. Isn't there a team in Devonport which would have got there quicker?

TTN, joking aside, it is not the nearest team that is called. For incidents at Wainfleet the RN team came from Portsmouth. For a second our local RAF team did the blow but they should have handed over to the Army. The bombing range was not licenced for demolition of shells.
