Perhaps while Mr Williamson is in a benevolent mood, he could also review the financial status of widows whose husbands retired before 1978 and married after retirement.

I have to say I agree with the points you made; especially the point about the option to move schemes. Apols if I have misinterpreted, but, I would disagree though about the suggestion that every serving at the time took a decision to stay put. For some it was a no brainer to jump to 05 -especially PAS. It was horses for courses-I know at least one individual whose pension virtually doubled.

Despite my having the fullest sympathy for this particular case , a precedent has now been set. There will now , I expect, be others coming forward with a variety of situations requiring a case-by- case assessment and each building upon a previous judgement.

Megan, indeed, but things do change
They do, they do PN. Same time, if on a short service commission when you departed you got back what you had paid into the super fund (no interest was accrued) minus a handling fee, that's what they had temerity to call it, a "handling fee". Barstewards.
