Off colour Bastille Day Flypast, Paris

The Patrouille de France led the flypast a few minutes ago with a major cock-up.

Nine aircraft should have been streaming smoke in the French colours with three blue, three white and three red.

Unfortunately the outer aircraft on the blue side streamed red....giving one red, two blue, three white, three red.

A major arse kicking is in the offing.

You have to pity the ground crew who filled the tanks for the smoke.

Am I missing something?

Surely each jet is equipped for all three colours of smoke?

Equipped for, but not necessarily filled for.

Or a switch faff. Could be either, and maybe neither.

Yeah the ground crew. ...Merde....

Bit of a crass comment considering recent events at a world renown display team ..

But it's ALWAYS the ground crews fault.

I am ashamed to say that, as it’s the French, I am somewhat amused!

As an aside, they flew over the top here on the evening of Wed 4th July in diamond formation with the rearmost aircraft slotting in to make the diamond complete. I estimate it was at around 4000 to 5000ft.
What I found unusual was that I timed it at 21:48 and sunset was at 21:25! They were silhouetted against the dusk with their nose lights glowing. Any comments on close formation flying in such low light conditions?

Just not their day. Two police motorcyclists crashed during the Bastille parade. Doesn’t sound good for tomorrow’s match if these things come in threes. Oh dear, never mind, what a shame!

In the big scheme of things, they're only French, so it's not important.
