Military Aviation A forum for the professionals who fly military hardware. Also for the backroom boys and girls who support the flying and maintain the equipment, and without whom nothing would ever leave the ground. All armies, navies and air forces of the world equally welcome here.

I might just give up reading the Telegraph.

I think the DT, whilst clearly pro-Brexit, does try to give a balance & covers things from both viewpoints. The other papers I mentioned seem to have a strict ‘everything is disastrous’ slant to the subject. It seems that Remain opinion, at least in this area of the media, remains entirely blinkered to any positive aspect.

I benefited from this scheme as a forces brat, meaning I went to two very good schools compared to the 7 or 8 I would have attended had I followed my father around.

As for it 'perpetuating the Officer class', my father was a corporal when I was enroled in my first boarding school.

Prat.
Prescott still is an ignorant blimp of the worst order. Furthermore, he thinks he has moved up the social status ladder now that he is in the House of Lords ...... a place he had previously decried and said he wanted nothing to do with. Chimp.

Prescott...a typical champagne socialist. How did this ass**le, get away with it?
As a ch/tech I was due to send my two eldest daughters to boarding school but opted for early retirement when it was offered. They were quite disappointed.

My wife and elder daughter would have loved to have gone to boarding school but didn't.
At the age of 19 I did - it was called The Merchant Navy

p.s Agree re Prescott and also with MrBernoulli's assessment.
(I did have a sneaking regard for him attempting to thump Mullet Man )
