Military Aviation A forum for the professionals who fly military hardware. Also for the backroom boys and girls who support the flying and maintain the equipment, and without whom nothing would ever leave the ground. All armies, navies and air forces of the world equally welcome here.

Tell the rest of the story....sent home but they get full pay after it is over with thus becoming a paid vacation that does not draw down their vacation days they have accrued.

The bills get paid....the military will lose no pay.

The Law Enforcement etc continues.

This is all willy waving by the two political parties.

Non-essential employees are sent home.....which begs the question....why are they on the payroll to begin with if they are "non-essential".

In a slightly inconvenient moment, it appears an interview the now POTUS did for CNN back in 2013 when he was plain Mr has come to light, in which he lays the blame for government shutdowns squarely with President failure. Interesting to see how he gets round this one, especially coming hot on the heals of his monumentally bungled anti-abortion speech in the past day or so.
