Air refueling question

I understand that all ? types air refueling
receiving fuel from a boom equipped tanker
can communicate with that aircraft once
‘Plugged in’ with an integral intercom
connection

Is there a similar integral intercom capability
when using the hose and drogue type of
air refueling?

Not on the present or previous generation equipment. However, I do not know if it part of that wonderful " Frankentanker's" repetoire.

Only lights & radio comms. Or as in my case looking through the hose doors & gesticulating at the pilot!

The RAF Voyager uses lights and radio, there is also an SOP for silent procedures.

Probably the same as the Valiant SOPs, other than joining on the wrong side?

Bot that the boom intercom is a lot of use as the comms need to be done before contact. I was an RAF observer on a SR71 mission once - all done radio silent. When the Blackbird was in contact, the only chat of significance was about whether chicken pox could be classed as an STD. One of the KC135 crew had all been bonking the same bird in Cambridge had had all come down with it!
